  The following is my detailed and well thought out review after living in an Apex apartment for 3 years. First of all, the low rates are the only redeemable quality. They prey on first time renters and college students. You pay low rates because it’s a low quality business and low quality apartments. Second, roaches. Ah, yes I will never forget the thrill and adrenaline rush of coming home after working a long double shift to find my cat chasing a roach the size of a mouse. No thrill compares to that of pulling back your covers and finding a dead roach in your bed. I couldn’t walk barefoot because tiny tiny baby roaches would be stuck to my feet. I spent 3 winters in that apartment and the heat broke at some point during each one. No quick fix for it, I’m talking over a week minimum. No concern for me let alone the children in the building. The water was brown from such bad rusting in the pipes. In fact the rust would build up on the inside of the tap so finally i had to take the cap on the off just so it would come out at all. The oven took forever to heat up. To the point where I would turn it on and immediately put whatever it was in just so it would cook. The bath tub was so clogged i couldn’t get through a single shower with out it being up to my calves. The toilet leaked all over the floor. The windows barely opened and if I could get them open, they wouldn’t shut. When i complained about that they claimed they were too old to replace. Sounds like a time to get new windows. Lastly, when I wrote review previously while still living there I experienced retaliation. Suddenly they were VERY concerned. After over a year of complaining they suddenly really wanted to fix the problems. So much so, I awoke to the maintenance man throwing his full weight against my door, attempting to force himself inside (the deadbolt was locked). I opened the door to find the maintenance man, Amber the leasing agent, and a third party i did not recognize standing outside my door like play ground bullies trying to corner their latest victim. After this, i would come home and there would be notices that they had sprayed for roaches (with my cat inside!!!) or tested the stove or checked the toilet, etc. without my consent or any type of warning. Apex has the monopoly because of low rates in an area that desperately needs more affordable housing options. I think they thought I was dumb or naive however i know the experiences I had can’t have been unique to me, and that’s disgusting. I reported them once for unsafe living conditions and now that I can be free from retaliation I just may drive all the way back down there to do it again. Get it together, Apex. Quit preying on vulnerable people. ***Also, before moving out I took photo and video evidence of everything wrong that I have mentioned so when someone inevitably denies this is the case, anyone may contact me for visual proof of the disgusting conditions I paid $550/month to live in. TL;DR don’t rent from Apex. They suck.

  Proceed with caution if you do business with these folks. I tried to rent a townhouse through Apex. Their phone rep gave me inaccurate information on multiple occasions. I went to their office in person to get everything straightened out. Went home and spent $60 on me and my wife's applications just to be told they would have to charge me a double security deposit because our individual incomes don't meet the required minimum. I said "Everywhere else I've ever been has counted our incomes together. We're married." Her response was "We don't really do that here." So I told her to forget about it and hung up. Too shady for me.

  Had a fabulous experience working with Tripp Lowe of Lowe Real Estate Group on the sale of my home in Martinsburg. He walked me through each and every step of the selling process. Answered all questions that I threw at him. Kept me in the loop with every single detail (which I absolutely loved). Tripp was very professional. Gave me solid advice and supported me in all my decisions. Most importantly, he helped me achieve my financial goal. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him.   David Hoffman was an absolute pleasure to work with. He went above and beyond with the sale of our current property and now with helping us get started on our new home.
